Now that I’m planning a wedding on a budget, I had to figure out how I could design save the dates and wedding invitations without blowing the whole budget. After taking , I had the images I needed to make the Save the Dates I had envisioned but not the graphic design skills to make them look the way I wanted. That’s where Minted Weddings came to the rescue in our Save the Date dilemma. And while I was at it, I made the wedding invites and custom stamps too.
has EVERYTHING you need for a wedding on a budget! In addition to Save the Dates cards and wedding invitations, they offer place cards, thank you cards, wedding programs, menus, wedding vow art and free wedding websites. The designs options range from modern and minimalist to rustic and bohemian.
Minted Weddings offers such a wide variety of styles because they work with independent artists and creators from all 50 states and 96 countries. Minted operates as a design marketplace. It’s an amazing concept and I love supporting independent artists.
When I started designing my I had SO many options to choose from. I knew that I wanted to use multiple photos so when I looked through the countless design options, that’s what I focused on. I created Save the Date magnets and postcards from a variety of designs. You can see a few of my options above. Ultimately, I picked the design with the most photos I could find: designed by Sarah Hicks Malone.
We picked the postcard style and ordered a quantity of 100. We opted for express service so that we would have them sooner and save a little bit of money on the proofing side. Wedding on a budget, remember? In addition to the section, you can save money by choosing their signature paper, changing the size and skipping the fancier custom options. Minted allows you to shop by price & format, style, color, special features, printing type, orientation and shape. You can request a free sample kit if you want to get a visual idea before ordering everything.
After designing the Save the Date cards, I started playing around with the free wedding websites. I fell in love with the Golden Glitz wedding website design. It had a very old Hollywood glamour look that matched our engagement photos. It also went with our wedding venue which is a converted bank from the 1920s.
After finding our wedding website design, I decided to look up the corresponding wedding invitations. When I sent a few wedding invitation design options to Gio, he picked the Golden Glitz design without hesitation. Even moreso than the wedding website, the by Kristin Smith really embodied the high glamour vibe of our wedding. You can see how it turned out below. Wedding details are blurred out for privacy.
While the wedding invitations aren’t in the same design family as our Save the Date cards, I think they all worked together. In addition to the Save the Date cards and Wedding Invitations, I added custom stamps to our order. I was able to get 100 Save the Date cards with envelopes, 100 Wedding Invitations and 100 stamps plus shipping and tax for just a little over $500. Wedding on a budget WIN.
Overall, made the planning process so much easier. It took me a short time to create our dream Save The Dates and Wedding Invitations. They arrived in a little over a week. If you’re wedding plan on a budget AND last minute, Minted Wedding can help with that also. Gio was very happy with how everything turned out too. He thought it was awesome that we were able to further personalize our invitations with our custom stamps.
