Being a plus size bride has its challenges. One of the main struggles being finding white dresses to wear for each of the many bridal occasions: engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and of course, the wedding! I am so excited to tell y’all about a new collection of between David’s Bridal and Fame & Partners. These dresses are the intersection of sleek and elegant making them perfect for any bridal event.
These two brands couldn’t complement each other better. David’s Bridal is one of the most recognized wedding brands that brings you luxe for less. Fame & Partners focuses on contemporary essentials for the modern woman. The synergy between these brands creates a product that is both classically elegant and fashion-forward sleek.
One of the things that I liked most about the collection was the range of styles available in my size. There’s jumpsuits and two-piece crop top sets available in plus sizes. Many of the plus size wedding dresses included in the collection feature sexy details that are hard to find. This includes features like plunging necklines, lace-up backs and high slits.
The dresses in the collection come in cream or ivory depending on the style. They’re perfect for a casual beach wedding or a fancy engagement party. For me, these dresses are strong contenders for my Rehearsal Dinner dress. I wanted something modern but still elegant. These dresses (and this whole collection, really) totally fit the bill.
I tried out two different dresses from the Fame and Partners x David’s Bridal collection of plus size wedding dresses. I’m wearing the size 22 in both dresses – the largest available size. Both of these dresses were fully lined and made from a non-stretch fabric. To me, these dresses fit like a hybrid between bridal sizing and ready-to-wear sizing. I wear a women’s size 20 in most dresses and a bridal size 24/26. Since these do run a bit smaller than ready-to-wear sizing, I hope we see this collection expand beyond a 22 in the future!
I picked out the ($329) and the ($299) for the same reason: ruffles! I knew I wanted a memorable rehearsal dinner dress that would stand out but in a far more subtle way than my wedding dress. The price points on both of these dresses around the $300 mark always didn’t hurt either!
Although I opted for a more subtle rehearsal dinner dress, I still wanted a bit of sparkle and that’s where my David’s Bridal accessories came in! These feature velcro ankle strap that made them both easy to get on and to wear! They certainly shimmer and with a high slit dress, you have to wear a statement shoe.
To match the shoes, I added the. This is small enough that it’s easy to carry but can definitely hold the essentials: phone, keys, and lipstick. It features a magnetic closure so you won’t be fumbling with a zipper all night and there’s a hidden chain strap.
The final complement to Fame and Partners x David’s Bridal plus size wedding dresses is from Twigs and Honey, available at DavidsBridal.com. An intricate mix of Swarovski crystals and floral charms, these are the perfect example of a delicate statement earring!
The new collection of plus size wedding dresses from Fame and Partners x David’s Bridal is definitely worth checking out. I’ve rarely come across anything similar and while this is in consideration for my Rehearsal Dinner dress, I can totally see this working for an engagement shoot, bridal shower or any other wedding-related event.
Make sure you shop this and let me know if you think I should wear either one of these dresses for my Rehearsal Dinner!
