#StareStyle: Power Up with the Ruby Linker Style Challenge

By Alysse Dalessandro
on August 14, 2016

*This post was sponsored by Ruby Linker but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ruby Linker is a new line of limited edition wearable art products based out of California and today, I am taking on the Ruby Linker Style Challenge to show you how I style one of their plus size tops.

All tops are available in sizes S-3X. The cut of the tops are flowy so they could likely fit beyond a 3X as well. The brand also makes really cute patterned leggings. Hopefully those will become available in plus sizes soon!

#StareStyle x Fashionable Addictions: My Polka Dot Reign

By Alysse Dalessandro
on April 26, 2016

Today's #StareStyle is special because it features plus size statement pieces from Fashionable Addictions, one of the very first boutiques that ever carried Ready to Stare merchandise. When I first started to Ready to Stare more than four years ago, there was definitely no #StareStyle. I was very much behind the scenes. I wanted so badly to have a place in fashion even though I was still unsure about my right to be there.
When Chicago stylist Aaja Corinne first introduced me to Dannie at Fashionable Addictions in the spring of 2012, I was instantly impressed with her business savvy. I knew I still had a lot to learn about running a business but right from the beginning she believed in me and my vision as a designer. She took Ready to Stare on as a retailer and my pieces have been carried in her store ever since.

#StareStyle: A Curvy Couture Lingerie Review

By Alysse Dalessandro
on March 15, 2016

I am constantly on the hunt for alternatives to the few mainstream plus size lingerie options and Curvy Couture was the first online brand that I tried out last June. Before Curvy Couture came into my life, there was only one style of bra that I really wore because I just really didn't know what else was out there that was comfortable, sexy and available in my size.

I have to admit that I was nervous about getting a bra that I hadn't tried on first. But picking something out online actually helped me step out of my comfort zone. I skipped padding for a change and opted for a lace balconette instead of my usual push-up. I was in love!

#StareStyle: Gwynnie Bee Totally Gets Me!

By Alysse Dalessandro
on January 15, 2016

Before the holiday, I partnered with plus size clothing subscription service, Gwynnie Bee for an epic giveway and I promised y'all that I would be giving you a review of the service in the new year. I have received my first few items and I am so damn excited to share my experience because I see a lot of value in a service like GB.

Even though I am someone who sells clothing online, I can still get pretty weary when it comes to buying certain items on the internet. Everything I design contains elastic, stretch or give in some way for this very reason. I am pretty short (5'1") and my top and bottom sizes are different. These aren't things that make my body bad in anyway but they make shopping strictly from an online size chart difficult at times. Because of vanity sizing, no universal plus size chart and a host of other reasons, I can wear a 26 in one store and a 20 in another. And tricky return policies can sometimes make the risk of shopping online not even seem worth it. That's where Gwynnie Bee comes into play.
