Happy 4th of July y'all! I love a themed look so you know and for some reason dressing up for 4th of July has become something I do consistently every year. Fuck a firework -- have you seen this lawn ornament I fashioned into a bandeau top?

I usually go all out but this year, I kept it themed in a more practical and wearable way. Although miniskirt covered in an American flag print may not be toned to some, it is for me. I did three red, white and beautiful looks to help you celebrate the holiday.

This dress is from Gwynnie Bee which is a plus size rental subscription service. I have been using the service for a few months. I am a fan of Gwynnie Bee because it allows me to try out styles and brands that I wouldn't normally try. And while this dress may not seem too out there for most, it's something out-of-the-ordinary for me. It's high cut and comes slightly below the knee. It's more conservative than I'm used to but I really like it. I paired it with a Ready to Stare single chain belt and Rue21 flatform sandals (similar here).

Standard Stare

This look is exactly what I would expect from myself for a 4th of July themed look. It's tacky and would probably make people who like really take their love of America really seriously pretty upset. A girl girl wearing a flag as a miniskirt PLUS horizontal stripes. #SorryNotSorry. This skirt was a gift from Kristen (s/o to my best friend!) and both the flag skirt and jean crop top are from Charlotte Russe.
I got the shoes from a local discount store and I've tried to find them online for y'all but I swear they are a unicorn. I will keep looking for a similar pair.

Set Sail

I was gifted this hat from my girl Sabrina after she wore it to Essie Golden's Golden Confidence Pool Party so I felt the pressure to carry on the tradition of slayage. I've wanted to do a take on a sailor look since I first got these high waisted shorts. They are from Rue21 and I am wearing the size 20.  The top is from Lovesick and yes, I've been wearing it a lot this summer. The shoes are my knock-off Candies from the 90s.
