I am a big fan of plus size minimalism and Universal Standard is a brand that just gets it. Recently, I had the opportunity to check out the Universal Standard showroom in New York with my good friends Marcy from Fearlessly Just Me and Ushshi.
From a 20 to 28, the three of us span a range of sizes. We are also different heights and body shapes but as we tried on pieces from Universal Standard, we saw just how the brand's modern simplicity really works for everyone.
It's super easy to make an appointment online for the Universal Standard showroom. Marcy and I arrived first and we quickly found all of the items we had been lusting after online to be available for us to try on. Universal Standard carries sizes 10-28 and the showroom is stocked with a range of sizes and colors.
This made it possible for Marcy and I to try on the same pieces at the same time - something I know that we wouldn't be able to do at just any retailer. And we took full advantage - trying as much as we possibly could during our hour-long appointment.
Though we didn't capture every look, a few of our favorite pieces are below!
Although I didn't snag any pics of myself in the caplette, you may be seeing it on me soon **wink wink**.
Our excitement over trying these pieces on in person and all getting to shop together was hard to contain. I even tried on a pair of distressed jeans that I thought for sure would be too long and they were the right length AND so comfortable!
Universal Standard is definitely making a name for itself in the plus size community and I am excited to see what's next for the brand. Next time I'm in New York, I may have to link up with Marcy and Ushshi for round two! Check out Marcy's blog post about our experience here.
If you happen to be in New York this weekend, you can get a first look at the Universal Standard Spring Collection and hang with plus size blogger Kelly Augustine at the Universal Standard showroom!
