Prior to launching, Savage X Fenty announced that the line would be go up to a size 3X and indicated bras would be available up to a size 44DDD. Although I did not go through the process of waiting in the virtual line, I did buy items on the launch day. I found that there were items available up to a 3X but the largest bra size was a 44DD which means while Savage X Fenty is plus size inclusive, it is not full bust friendly.
As you may know, I have an affinity for marabou and otherwise . I gravitated to the marabou robe and the trimmed with marabou which is what I ultimately ended up buying in a 2X/3X. I also loved the marabou romper (shout to the non-perky breasts shown in the product photo!) but without a size chart for bottoms, I didn’t know if that would fit on my thighs.
Both the marabou robe and the marabou romper are Xtra Savage Xclusive items which means a $50 yearly membership is required. Membership benefits include exclusive collections, free shipping and pre-release access. Since I didn’t buy anything that was Xclusive, I can’t speak to this process but I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad idea especially if it means more extravagant and riskier items are being produced in plus sizes.
Next, I shopped the undies section and this time, I used the size of the model’s thighs to see which styles were available in my size. I was very happy to see a range of nudes. The undies section had a good amount of basics and a very speciality pieces.
Two of the things I look for in plus size underwear are a true high waist style and a microfiber and Savage X Fenty delivered both! I bought the in a size 3X. As previously mentioned, the size guide is only for bras so I guessed that 3X would work. I wear a size 20 or 22 in jeans depending on the fabric but I always order a size 22/3X in underwear. There was no indication if the size 3X translated to a size 22/24 but I did find these to fit true to size and would recommend them up to a size 24. I loved the thick waist band, the lace detail and the high waist fit.
Finally, I headed to the bras section. There were unlined, push up, undewire, demi cup and bralette styles. This was one time that I did sort by size. I wear a 40DD and this is the section where I found the least options in my size. Currently a search for 40DD returns 18 results. I found the styles to be solid basics much like the undies but since my bras basics are already covered, I opted not to buy a bra. The one pictured above is from Torrid.
FINAL THOUGHTS
First of all, congratulations for making it through this Savage x Fenty plus size lingerie review. I know it was a long one! Because there is so little out there about the fit, I wanted to be thorough. My biggest positives would be that it’s easy to find your size on the site and that the fit seems to be similar to a Torrid or Lane Bryant 3X. I LOVED the marabou items and the high waist underwear styles and think Savage X Fenty offered some solid basic options. I would like to see the size range expand to include plus size lingerie above a 3X and full cup options above a DD.
Lingerie, like fashion, is subjective but to me, these styles were exactly what I was looking for in my size! What pieces are you loving and what do you hope to see more of? Let me know in the comments below!
* Although I was invited to the launch party for this collection (and I’ll be forever bummed I missed my chance to meet Rihanna), these items were purchased on my own and this post is not sponsored.
