It's rare for me to find a designer where I would wear basically every item they make; it's even more rare that they would make everything in my size. And that is why Chubby Cartwheels is one of my absolute favorite designers!

When I first discovered Chubby Cartwheels, I was so impressed not only by the quality of the items presented but by the presentation itself. The clothes are made up to size 5x and shown on women up to size 5x- not just on a size 12 or 14.  As a consumer, I want to shop and see women that look like me. And as a designer, I want my customers to feel represented by how I present my designs. I felt as if I found a brand that had already achieved the ideals of representation that I personally aspire to as a designer.

And the designer behind Chubby Cartwheels, Shawna, is truly a fashion innovator. She's not just making items available in plus size -- she's making items I've never seen anyone else do.  Chubby Cartwheels is all about having fun with fashion and embracing who you are. Whether it's a french fry print body suit or  mermaid print leggings, this is certainly a brand that's gonna make 'em stare.  It's not about hiding, tucking, cinching or flattering, it's simply about wearing what you like. And because Shawna makes everything by hand, there's a lot of options for customizing!

What I really love about Shawna is that she's been super supportive of me and my growth as a designer. This summer, Shawna wore a one-of-a-kind ring in an editorial for Vol Up 2 magazine.  It was truly an honor to see someone who I admire so much wearing something that I made in one of my favorite magazines  -- it was definitely one of the highlights of my design career. Her encouraging words over this past year have really helped me build my own confidence and voice as a designer and I am truly grateful for that.

I know I know, I'm fangirling. Shawna is really that dope, I swear.

Like I said, it was nearly impossible for me to pick out what I wanted from Chubby Cartwheels for this post. I literally spent hours agonizing over what to get because I wanted everything BUT one thing I've been wanting but could never find was a bandeau that doesn't cut off my circulation because it's actually plus size. The Chubby Cartwheels bandeaus come in tons of different prints and are priced extremely reasonable! I picked the American flag print because it's a print I love and that I rarely find in plus size. The bandeaus are available in two different sizes and all of the measurements are listed on the site so you're not guessing if it will fit. I'm wearing a size 1/2 for reference.

I decided to pair the top with the leather maxi slit skirt from the Fall Collection (sold out), the thick gold body chain (size 1X-3X) and added a  vintage faux fur vest at the end. The vest is a size 2X so it's plus size, fur and vintage -- let the amazingness of that sink in.
