This edition of #StareStyle spotlights one of Ready to Stare's retailers, Vox Curvy Couture. Vox Curvy Couture is Phoenix's first exclusively plus size clothing store. The curation of items is playful yet edgy. You can currently find the I Woke Up Like Dis tees and dino jewelry on sale at Vox and more of my personal favorites from the Fall Collection on their way!
I first connected with Andy McManis, the owner of Vox, on Instagram in June when she commented on one of my posts that she too worked full time at a corporate job and ran her business. Her positive encouragement was exactly what I needed that day and I was extremely happy that she was interested in having Ready to Stare carried in her store.
To anyone who is still in the beginning years of their entrepreneurial endeavors and doesn't have investors, working full-time for someone else and yourself becomes a necessary evil. I immediately felt a kinship with Andy because I know how hard it is to run an online store while also working full time elsewhere, so I can only imagine the additional challenges of running a physical location too.
A few weeks ago, I was so happy to see that Andy had left her full time corporate job to run Vox and at the end of this week, I will be following in her footsteps to leave my corporate job to focus on designing full time!
Since the logo tee features so many colors, I wanted to pair it along with something black and white. I have been on the hunt for a black and white horizontal striped pencil skirt and when I saw this scuba fabric skirt from Vox, I had to have it! The stiffness of this fabric makes it very form fitting. I finished the look with googly eye earrings and the HUSTLE ring from the Fall Collection.
